Freedom Awards Gala

Freedom Awards Gala
Freedom is rarely achieved without a struggle. The motivation and driving force required will vary from person to person, but the passion and courage behind the fight are common threads in their stories of success. Our 2025 Freedom Award recipients are all examples of how faith can carry us through fire. Flying in the open cockpit of a helicopter in a war zone, or walking through school hallways filled with hate and disdain, or being armed with a divine promise of protection facing an enemy bent on your destruction are situations not fit for the faint of heart. The 2025 Freedom Award recipients will join an impressive list of previous honorees who have made unique contributions to the cause of defending and promoting the traditional American values of God, family, freedom, and country.

2025 FREEDOM AWARD HONOREES

CARLOTTA WALLS LANIER

Carlotta was just 14 years old when she and eight other Black students walked into Little Rock Central High School.  They were entering a white high school during the height of the Civil Rights Movement.  She did not let the hateful environment, or the harassment endured by her family, deter her from seeking her right to a quality education.

FRANK SWEETING

Frank was part of the 213th Field Artillery Battalion from Southern Utah who were serving during the Korean War.  The stark reality of the dangers of war were staggering for this group of young farm boys and ranchers.  However, they had been promised that if they were obedient, they would all return home…and they did.

JOHN “JACK” RHODES

Jack served as a pilot of a helicopter gunship during the Vietnam War.  His assignments included defending and protecting troops, and delivering supplies behind enemy lines.  He survived being shot down twice and had too many close calls for him to deny that he was being watched over by a guardian angel.

CHARLES & ESTHER MULLY

Charles and Esther have rescued, fed, clothed, educated, and loved thousands of street children in Kenya.  Selected for a Freedom Award in 2022, they were unable to obtain travel visas in time to attend that Gala.  We will be reminded of their story and finally be able to hear from Mully in person this year.

Program Info

This year we are delighted to welcome the Caleb Chapman Band as our guest entertainment.  We look forward to having this group of young talented musicians share their talents and energy with us.
